The question of whether a restaurant serves halal food has been asked many times over the years. But what does it mean exactly? And how do restaurants decide whether they are serving halal food? In this video we explain what halal food is and why it matters. We also look into some of the misconceptions about halal food. We start our journey by looking at the meaning of the word Halal. Then we take a trip to the Middle East and explore the history of the term Halal. From there we move on to the different types of meat found in most Islamic countries including beef.

It's got its own special brews

When it comes to eating out, there are few things better than sitting outside with friends and family. But what about those times when you want to enjoy some great food without having to worry about where you're going to sit down? For many people, that means heading outdoors — whether it's to a restaurant patio, park bench, or even just the grassy knoll behind your house. If you've been looking for a way to make sure you never run out of options again, we've got three ideas for you. 1. Find the best restaurants near you If you live in a city, chances are you already know where to go. But what about smaller towns and rural areas? Many cities have Yelp reviews for local eateries, but how do you find restaurants in less populated parts of town? A simple web browser extension called Yext lets you search for businesses nearby. Simply type "restaurants" into the URL bar, followed by the name of the location you'd like to check out. You'll see a list of local businesses, including restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc., along with ratings and reviews. Clicking on each listing takes you directly to the site of the business itself. 2. Use OpenTable OpenTable is another option for finding restaurants close to home. Just type in the address of the establishment you'd like to try into the search box. Not only does it provide information about the menu, hours of operation, and contact info, but it also gives you access to reservations. You can book tables online or via mobile app. 3. Go old school You don't always have to rely on technology to find a great meal. Sometimes, all you need is a map and a little common sense. When you're planning a trip somewhere unfamiliar, look up the area on a map. Then, start asking around. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful tools in the world. Ask locals where they recommend eating, and let them guide you.

Sourced locally and made in-House

Food trucks are becoming increasingly popular in Ireland. They're popping up in cities like Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and even Belfast. But just because they're mobile doesn't mean they're easy to find. Some food trucks will sell out; others won't accept reservations. So make sure you know where you want to go ahead of time. And remember to take photos of your food while you're eating it. What sort of food is served at Restaurant Nosta? Nosta serves Mediterranean cuisine, including dishes such as pasta, pizza, salads, soups, and desserts. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, which includes both domestic and imported wines.

We had been looking forward to our trip to London for ages, and we knew it was going to be fantastic. We booked a table at one of my favourite restaurants, The Nosta Restaurant, where I'd eaten many times before. The restaurant itself is beautiful, set within a Grade II listed building in Mayfair. It's got a warm, cosy feel to it, with lots of dark wood furniture, leather chairs and tables. There are paintings on the walls depicting scenes from the British countryside, and there are even some antique clocks dotted around the place. Our waiter was very attentive, and he recommended dishes based on what we had already ordered. He told us about the specials of the day, and gave us recommendations based on what we had chosen. He brought us drinks and snacks throughout the course of our meal, too. We started off with some bread and butter pudding. This came with a delicious homemade sauce, and was served with a side of garlic mushrooms. Everything was absolutely delicious - the bread was soft and fluffy, the sauce was sweet and tangy, and the mushrooms were just the perfect accompaniment. For our main courses, we chose the roast chicken with wild mushroom risotto and the slow cooked beef cheeks with parsnip puree and creamed potato. Both were excellent, although I found the beef cheeks slightly lacking in flavour. They were perfectly tender though, and the meat fell away easily from the bone. I loved the combination of flavours in both dishes. The wild mushrooms added a lovely earthiness to the risotto, while the parsnips helped balance out the richness of the dish. My husband thought the beef cheeks were great, however, saying that they were "an absolute triumph". I couldn't resist having dessert, so I went for the sticky toffee pudding. This was served with vanilla ice cream, and melted into my mouth like no other dessert I've ever tasted. It was incredibly rich, creamy and sticky. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at The Cinnamon Club. Our meals were beautifully presented, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. If you're thinking about eating here, do yourself a favour and book a table early. You won't regret it.
